An outspoken Dancehall Artist in the Garden City (Kumasi), Jr Stryger who is popular known in the showbiz industry as Otumfour Dancehall King has fired Rex Omar in Facebook post that the self acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale is a versatile artiste and he needs to given that versatility.
He vowed this in reference to recent interview of the Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and a highlife legend, Rex Omar describing the self acclaimed dancehall king Shatta Wale as rather highlife king as he has more of highlife rhythmic patterns in his music than that of Dancehall.
Mr. Omar figured that Jamaicans will never accept him (Shatta Wale) as a dancehall artiste but “he sits in Ghana and calls himself a dancehall king whiles I see him as a highlife king.”
Jr Stryger was unsatisfied by the words of the highlife legend and posted the below on his Facebook wall;
“Mr Rex Omar we hear you and understand you and respect your opinions but Shatta Wale is a versatile artist and that is what we shall give him, versatility. No one in this industry can say that he has never done a dancehall song. Stonebwoy is an all out dancehall artiste and that is what we shall give him also. Sir blame your own people (Ghanaians) and the Gh music industry and the people who give awards. Maybe they should create a versatile music awards nominee/nomination. It will sort out the ying from the yang and the tomatoes from the tomato’s #OtumfuoDancehallking#ksi.”
