Asuogyaman District finest celebrated broadcaster Mr. Frank Owusu Kojo Asiamah, popularly known on Radio as FOKA host of Asuogyaman FM’s late Evening show, ‘Sankofa’, has quit the station after some 2 and half years of working with the Godstive Media Association, Ghananewsalert.com reported it this Monday.
Mr. FOKA is reported to have told his ‘Sankofa’ team that he would be hosting his last show tomorrow, Saturday 30th December, 2017, after which he would formally announce his exit and gracefully bow out.
Though not official, it is now open talk among workers of Asuogyaman FM, Rite FM and other koforidua station’s that FOKA would be bowing out this week.
Unfortunately, FOKA neither picked his call nor replied a message Ghananewsalert.com sent to his phone requesting to speak with him about his future prospects and the reason for his exit but we heard him saying that he will quit Asuogyaman FM soon last Saturday 9th December 2017 on Ritechart show on Rite 90.1 FM an entertainment program hosted by another eastern region finest presenter Richard Brako Frimpong popularly known as “Papa Attitude”.
The site reported that the management of Asuogyaman FM has settled on a suitable replacement for Mr. FOKA and the ‘SANKOFA’ show would be entirely re-structured to increase its audience base and appeal.
Interestingly, his upcoming exit is said to have come as no surprise to many of his colleagues because of how some of the corrupted elders in the district threat him.
Before joining Asuogyaman FM about two and half years ago, Mr.Foka worked with Achievers radio in Accra, Dinpa FM in Suyani, Kantinka FM, and Obrempong FM also in swedru. He has a unique baritone voice pleasant to the ears, an excellent sense of humour and an enviable dexterity in handling the Twi and English languages.
Word going round says FOKA’s resignation from Asuogyaman 87.7 FM was to enable him focus on building his new online television station, FOKATV, a 24-hour channel available on YouTube.
There are also speculations he may be heading to work with a radio Station either in Kumasi, Accra or Takoradi, one of the newest additions of the Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Group, Rainbow radio or Zylofon media.
