‘Shouting And Clapping While Praying Annoys God’– Bishop J. Y. Adu
The Founder and Leader of New Jerusalem Chapel Bishop J. Y. Adu the traditional ritual of Christians which includes clapping and shouting during prayers irritates God very much.
While explaining himself to Ike De Unpredictable on Angel Church Bells, the man of God said prayers are supposed to be communication between oneself and God so he gets fascinated when he sees people trooping to school parks at night to shout and pray.
He used Mathew 6:6 to buttress his point. That chapter in the Bible says: “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you”.
“I get shocked when I see people in school parks praying just to let people know that they are praying. Even when you go to church, don’t shout and clap when praying because prayers are not about clapping and shouting as some people do. It actually irritates God when Christians do that” Bishop J Y continued.
“Prayers is communication between only you and God not people around you. Prayers give one opportunity to tell his or her problem or communicate to God not man or your pastor so the person should follow the guidelines God gives when praying”. He advised.
